McGee CDJR Brattleboro Sold to Florida Dealer, Carlos Rios

Nancy Phillips Associates announces the sale of McGee Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Brattleboro, Vermont to Florida auto dealer, Carlos Rios. Carlos currently owns Palmetto Alfa-Romeo in North Miami, Florida. This will be Carlos' first acquisition in the Northeast.

The new dealership name is Brattleboro Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Rob McGee, former owner, sold the dealership to consolidate his Vermont holdings in the central region of the state where he has recently added other dealerships. He continues to operate the McGee Family of Dealerships located throughout Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Nancy Phillips Associates announces the sale of Enxing Kia in North Hampton, New Hampshire to Chris Lane. Chris is the owner, along with his family, of McFarland Ford in Exeter NH and MacFarland Ford in Rochester, NH. This acquisition extends the McFarland presence in southern New Hampshire while increasing it’s reach into the popular high density import segment in the area.

The new dealership name is McFarland Kia.

Dan Enxing, former owner, continues to operate his top performing signature Volvo dealership, known as Volvo Cars of Exeter, in Exeter New Hampshire.

Dan O'Brien Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Sold to Grieco Automotive Group

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Dan O'Brien Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Methuen, MA to Grieco Automotive Group.

This acquisition adds Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram to the growing number of franchises operated in the states of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida and California represented by Rhode Island based Grieco Automotive Group.

The dealership is now known as Grieco Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Dan O’Brien Auto Group has divested of its dealership holdings over the last few years with all transactions orchestrated by Nancy Phillips Associates. Dan O’Brien will be taking time to focus on his family during an extended but temporary break from the industry.

The Phillips Report - 2023 Dealership Values in Greater New England

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to present the 2023 Phillips Report. This report is the only publication that specifically speaks to auto dealership transaction values, trends, and trajectories in the New England and Greater New York market areas.

Throughout 2023, dealerships in the Greater New England market area have continued to sell for more than they had prior to 2020. However, year-over-year Business Value as a percent of total dealership sales decreased from 18.7% in 2022 by 5.3% to 13.4% thereby marking the beginning of the re-normalization of dealership values. While we believe that dealerships will not revert to their former value range, dealership appreciation is on hold for now. The pool of financially capable buyers has also undergone a reduction in size due in part to worldly concerns, higher interest rates and lots full of unsold vehicles.

Middlebury Chevrolet Sold to McGee Family of Dealerships

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Middlebury Chevrolet owned by Chris Mackey of Mackey Auto Group and sold to Rob McGee of McGee Family of Dealerships.

Mackey AutoGroup operates multiple dealerships in upstate New York. Mackey sold the Middlebury dealership, it’s only outpost in Vermont, in order to expand further in it’s primary upstate New York geography. Rob McGee owns dealerships in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont and sought out the Middlebury dealership to enhance his growing footprint in the Vermont market and northern New England market areas.

Nancy Phillips Associates initiated the sale with Mackey on behalf of Rob McGee insuring that both Buyer and Seller benefitted from a mutually advantageous transaction.

The new dealership is called McGee Chevrolet of Middlebury.

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Dan O'Brien Kia of Concord, NH to David Rosenberg and his partner, Dennis Wilson.

Nancy Phillips Associates has recently facilitated the sale of four of the Dan O'Brien Group dealerships. Our company has been responsible for 11 of the dealership acquisitions made by David Rosenberg and his affiliates in New England. This new acquisition is adjacent to Capital City Subaru which was sold to Rosenberg by Nancy Phillips Associates two years ago.

Kia has become one of the most desirable and valuable franchises in recent years with the firm of Nancy Phillips Associates facilitating the sale of the majority of the Kia dealerships that changed hands in the New England area.

Dealership Sold: Village Dodge in Hudson, NY

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Village Dodge owned by Peter Backlund and Stacey Gallagher Sold to Chris Buonanno and Ilya Shnayder.

Village Dodge has been in the Backlund family since 1972. After 51 years it has been sold by brother and sister team Peter Backlund and Stacey Gallagher. The dealership is now called Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Chris Buonanno who was prior owner of his family's Mercedes Benz dealership in Westchester County will be the Dealer Principal of Orchard CDJR. The day-to-day operations will be spearheaded by Mark Brown the General Manager. Ilya Shnayder is a partner in this dealership and Maverick Motor Group which has several locations throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Bailey Ford in Malone, NY Sold to Douglas Gilmour.

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Bailey Ford in Malone, NY to Douglas Gilmour.

The Bailey family have been operating Bailey Ford Malone for over 40 years. In the spring of 2022, Stephen Bailey and his son Andrew Bailey opened a second Bailey Ford location in Plattsburgh, NY. The sale of their Malone location will allow Steve to semi-retire, and Andrew to focus on the Plattsburgh store and continue to grow that location.

The acquisition of Bailey Ford Malone will be Doug Gilmour's first dealership. Gilmour, a Vermont native, and former dealership operator came to us from his most recent position at Ford Motor Company where he has worked since 2004.

The new dealership is called Malone Ford.
