Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Brigham-Gill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Natick, Massachusetts to Village Automotive Group.

Richard Gill’s family has owned Brigham-Gill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram since 1966, when his father opened the dealership. Richard started working at the business when he was in high school and has spent his entire adult career at the dealership.

Village Auto Group began in the early 1960s when Ray Ciccolo walked into a Rambler/Volvo dealership looking to buy a used car and ended up buying the whole dealership. Village Auto Group primarily represents nearly a dozen Import dealerships. This acquisition adds an important high volume Domestic to their franchise mix and signifies new directions for this stellar dealership group.

Jeff Moore bought Wells River Chevrolet in 2014 from a friend who was retiring and wanted to ensure he left his dealership in good hands. Jeff was one of the rare dealership owners approved to purchase a General Motors dealership who had no prior experience in the automotive industry. He was, however, a highly successful businessman who owned and operated both a freight management company and a bioenergy fuel distribution business in the state of Vermont. During his 10 years of ownership he radically increased the dealership revenues, profitability and community presence. Recognizing that timing is everything, Jeff made the decision to look into selling if he could find the right fit for his dealership.

He reached out to Nancy Phillips, who came to him early on with an offer to purchase from the operator of a highly successful dealership group within the same geography. As it turned out, the two men were already acquainted, and Jeff knew he’d found the right buyer to take over the business.

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Volkswagen of Rochester to Sheree Kaplan of Kaplan Auto Group. Sheree took the reins of her father’s Jaguar dealership in 1991 and has since expanded Kaplan Auto Group to include multiple dealerships in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Kaplan is thrilled to bring a Volkswagen dealership into her operation.  “My father was one of the first Volkswagen dealers in the country and I’m very excited to be returning to the brand,” she said.  

Dwight Wissler and his son Jordan purchased their Volkswagen dealership 12 years ago through Nancy Phillips Associates. When Nancy approached the father and son with the idea of selling the dealership last year, they hadn’t been thinking about a change.  “We weren’t initially thinking about getting out of the business but Nancy gave us time to consider the idea and didn’t pressure us,” Jordan said. “The decision wasn’t easy, but my father and I decided that the timing was right and the values in line with taking a new direction in our lives.”

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Parker Chevrolet in Champlain, NY to Brian Hoar of Goss Dodge Chrysler Ram and Goss Jeep in Burlington, VT.

Brothers Rolla Parker and Tim Parker moved from Middlebury, VT and opened the doors of Parker Chevrolet in 1994. Since taking over in Champlain, they have grown their business to be a leader in sales and customer satisfaction. Rolla has kept the North Country in tears with his hysterical commercials starring none other than himself and his son Rolla Jr.. Rolla is moving on to enjoy his retirement and his grandchildren while Tim Parker will be staying on as General Manager of the new dealership, Goss Chevrolet. Rolla’s daughter Beth is staying on as the parts manager while his son Rolla Jr., works on the sales floor.   

“The Parker family is still there, and all the employees stayed as well. The new owner’s philosophy, and my philosophy were very similar, so it was a good marriage between the two businesses,” Rolla said.  

Brian Hoar is the second generation of his family to lead Goss Dodge Chrysler Ram in Burlington, VT, which his father purchased in 1979 and is the number one selling Ram dealership in New England. Nancy Phillips Associates previously worked with Hoar on his acquisition of Goss Jeep in Burlington, VT in 2019. Hoar's most recent acquisition, Parker Chevrolet, will now be known as Goss Chevrolet.

Over the past couple years Hoar had been working with Nancy Phillips Associates to find another location and knew immediately that the New York location was the right spot. “It didn’t take me more than one visit and one conversation with the Parker brothers to decide this was the one,” he said. “It’s a beautiful facility and a high performing store, but the team is the most important part. They have a really good team here.”
