Enxing Kia in North Hampton, NH Sold to Chris Lane of McFarland Group of Dealerships

Nancy Phillips Associates announces the sale of Enxing Kia in North Hampton, New Hampshire to Chris Lane. Chris is the owner, along with his family, of McFarland Ford in Exeter NH and MacFarland Ford in Rochester, NH. This acquisition extends the McFarland presence in southern New Hampshire while increasing it’s reach into the popular high density import segment in the area.

The new dealership name is McFarland Kia.

Dan Enxing, former owner, continues to operate his top performing signature Volvo dealership, known as Volvo Cars of Exeter, in Exeter New Hampshire.

Dan O'Brien Kia of Concord Sold to David Rosenberg

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Dan O'Brien Kia of Concord, NH to David Rosenberg and his partner, Dennis Wilson.

Nancy Phillips Associates has recently facilitated the sale of four of the Dan O'Brien Group dealerships. Our company has been responsible for 11 of the dealership acquisitions made by David Rosenberg and his affiliates in New England. This new acquisition is adjacent to Capital City Subaru which was sold to Rosenberg by Nancy Phillips Associates two years ago.

Kia has become one of the most desirable and valuable franchises in recent years with the firm of Nancy Phillips Associates facilitating the sale of the majority of the Kia dealerships that changed hands in the New England area.

The new dealership is called Capital City Kia of Concord

Cantin Chevrolet of Laconia, NH Sold to Irwin Automotive Group.

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Cantin Chevrolet to Chris Irwin of Irwin Automotive Group. Both the Buyer and Seller are located in Laconia, New Hampshire.

Cantin Chevrolet, operated by 3 generations of the Cantin family, has prospered in Laconia since 1929 surviving The Great Depression, World War II, The Korean Conflict, The Vietnam War, the Auto Bail Out of 2009 and the Pandemic. Chris Irwin, the third generation in his family to operate franchised auto dealerships in Laconia, is the new owner. A sale of the dealership was carefully considered by Tom Cantin with the goal of securing the future of both his employees and his customers. The merger of equals represents the continuation of a legacy in a market area where community values, customer goodwill, loyalty and longevity rein. Customers, employees and the dealership owners, both past and present, applaud the transaction and the guarantee of the continuation of outstanding business as usual in Laconia.

What Tom Cantin Says about NPA:

"My grandfather and father were both car dealers before me and my dealership has been in my family for 95 years. When it was clear that my children were not going to follow me into the business, I started to think about my own exit strategy. I’ve always known of Nancy Phillips because of her excellent reputation in the industry and so when I was ready to sell, I reached out to her.

I had a specific buyer in mind but didn’t have a sense of what a fair price was. Nancy helped with two big pieces: valuing the business and handling the transaction. I’ve been asked by several of my dealer contemporaries ‘Did you really need to have someone handle the sale?’ And I told them ‘Yes because of the things you don’t know about selling a dealership. There was a huge benefit in having a sounding board in Nancy, someone to ask questions like, should this part be happening? Is this right? She handled everything from the factory to the buyer which made this a smooth transaction. Her rapport with General Motors was an enormous advantage in and of itself.

Nancy knows the process and was a liaison for us as we worked through the sale. Her office was great at keeping everything flowing and letting me know when I needed to get paperwork back to them or giving me a heads up about what the buyer would need down the road. Terry in her office would politely check back in to make sure our homework was done in time.

Dan O'Brien Kia of North Hampton Sold to Daniel Enxing

Nancy Phillips Associates announces the sale of Dan O’Brien Kia in North Hampton, New Hampshire to Daniel Enxing, owner of Volvo of Exeter in Exeter, New Hampshire.

The acquisition of Dan O’Brien Kia enhances Enxing’s presence in the seacoast market area by providing two great complimentary franchises both of which are housed in beautiful branded facilities. The new dealership will be operated by Enxing in conjunction with his sons.

Dan O'Brien Auto Group also owns dealerships in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The sale of this dealership allows the group to focus on its other interests.

Rochester Volkswagen Sold to Jake Kaplan Auto Group

Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Volkswagen of Rochester to Sheree Kaplan of Kaplan Auto Group. Sheree took the reins of her father’s Jaguar dealership in 1991 and has since expanded Kaplan Auto Group to include multiple dealerships in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Kaplan is thrilled to bring a Volkswagen dealership into her operation. “My father was one of the first Volkswagen dealers in the country and I’m very excited to be returning to the brand,” she said.

Dwight Wissler and his son Jordan purchased their Volkswagen dealership 12 years ago through Nancy Phillips Associates. When Nancy approached the father and son with the idea of selling the dealership last year, they hadn’t been thinking about a change. “We weren’t initially thinking about getting out of the business but Nancy gave us time to consider the idea and didn’t pressure us,” Jordan said. “The decision wasn’t easy, but my father and I decided that the timing was right and the values in line with taking a new direction in our lives.”
