Nancy Phillips Associates announces the sale of Willie Racine’s Inc., an exclusive Jeep dealership owned by the Racine family and located in Burlington, VT to Brian Hoar of Goss Dodge, Inc., also of Burlington. The new dealership will be known as Goss Jeep.
Willie Racine’s has been a fixture in Burlington for more than 50 years. Brian Hoar has operated his family-owned dealership since 2004. He is also a professional race car driver, with both ACT and NASCAR championships to his credit.
The new dealership will serve the Champlain Valley region by continuing to provide the right vehicle to successfully navigate the New England landscape – and both dealers agree that even Vermont’s weather challenges are not too much for a Jeep !
Through February 19, 2019, the Currier Museum of Art is featuring a special exhibition that highlights a selection of photographs from the 404 Not Found Photo Essay, produced by Nancy Phillips, along with photographer Jasmine Inglesmith and journalist Maggie Wallace.
The photos were taken during the spring and summer of 2017 while filming a documentary about homeless teenagers in Manchester NH. The film, 404 Not Found was first screened at the New Hampshire Film Festival in Portsmouth, but the problem of homeless teens still persists. While New Hampshire has shelters that serve adults and families, there are currently no emergency overnight shelters for young people. Many of these youth technically fall under the care of the state and their reasons for instability range from abusive homes and drug-addicted parents to poverty or familial rejection. Very few have adults they can trust in their lives. As they navigate this difficult time between childhood and adulthood, these teenagers are desperate to protect their independence and are wary of authority figures. Because they have lost the ability to distinguish the two from each other, they may hide from danger and help alike. Learn more by viewing the 404 Not Found website.
The 404 Not Found Photo Essay Exhibit includes information on the resources provided by Waypoint, located in Manchester, NH. Waypoint is the only agency in New Hampshire that offers a continuum of services for homeless youth, and is the statewide contact for referrals to serve these youth.
