Nancy Phillips Associates is pleased to announce the sale of Durocher Auto Sales in Plattsburgh, New York to Julie and George Huttig.
The new name of the dealership is Huttig Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Julie Huttig is Dealer Principal of the new store as well as Huttig Nissan, also in Plattsburgh. The Huttig family’s holdings include four franchised dealerships along with a group of NAPA Auto Parts stores in New York.
Julie began her career as a District Service Manager for Chrysler Corp, where she met her husband George. Her new dealership will compete against George’s dealership, Adirondack Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in nearby Elizabethtown, NY, one of the top performing dealerships in the region. The wife/husband duo will enjoy friendly competition as they vie for the highest position on the brand’s monthly sales performance report.
Durocher Auto Sales built an outstanding reputation since 1951 as a family-owned operation. This sale has enabled Durocher family members, many of whom were employed at the dealership, to enjoy a well-earned retirement.
Nancy Phillips stated that the sale was, "complex due to the various holdings of the Durocher family, including real estate, a collision center and a large storage unit enterprise. The many unique elements of the transaction required expert coordination of separate sales of the various business entities in order to sell the dealership, which will eventually require rebranding.”
