In 2024, Business Value as a percent of total dealership sales increased by 1.2%. In 2024 the moderate increase in Business Value was accompanied by a significant decline in the Average Net Profit of dealerships and the Average Net Profit as a Percent of Sales. These statistics indicate that a moderate continuation in the escalation of Business Value despite the significant decline in the net profit and the corresponding net profit as a percent of sales. While we anticipated a leveling or slight decline in dealership values in New England and Greater New York in 2024, the actual statistics reveal that dealerships of all sizes in our market area remain desirable and continue to deliver strong returns when sold. Additionally, there is accelerated momentum on the part of a few franchisors to consolidate certain market areas. This initiative tends to support strong values by increasing the desirability of a closed point for dealers who will benefit from the re-alignment of their network.
